Impact of E-commerce to Business and Logistics Services in Indonesia

 October, 7th 2015. I attended a General Discussion of Logistics HM.  Mr. R.Rahmat Didiet Hidayat as a moderator and the speakers are     Mrs. Ventya Gema (Vice President Operation Lazada Indonesia) and Mr. Hadi Kuncoro (Chief Operating Officer a- commerce Indonesia).
               And we start from Mrs. Ventya as a Vice President Operation of Lazada Indonesia was ask the Audience “what are you know about e-commerce?” and i said “jual beli Online” and almost of all the audience said the same thing. From the what that i know E-Commerce is a Retail Activities that use Social Media and Online Network as the store.

               Mrs. Ventya explain that Indonesia have Largest Population in The World, Demographic said from totally 255,5 million population in Indonesia is 52% Male, and 48% Female. And arround 58,4% (12-34 years old) is include to the Digital Native Population, 82 million Internet users, 38,3 million are Smartphone Users. From the all Internet Users there is 76% Social Networks, 45% Instant Managing, and arround 42% used to Information Search. From this explaination, i can see that the E-Commerce Business in Indonesia have a spesial and have a great Business Prspect in Indonesia.
               She said that Online Shopping have the both of Advantages and Disadvantages.
Advantages of Online Shopping is :
ü  Buyer will be facilitated to find the product that their wants and needs.
ü  Buyer isn’t need to go to the store t find and buy the products
ü  Buyer and seller can buy and sell their product everywhere, everytime as their have an Internet Connectivity and Internet Accesibility
ü  Seller can save their money to rent a store
ü  Increasing of Logistics activities
ü  Etc
Disadvantages of Online Shopping is :
ü  There isnt guarantee of the Products Quality
ü  The real products isn’t macth with the products in the Pictures.
ü  The Good and Bad people can be easy to start a business, and there are many bad sites which eat up costumers money
ü  Sometimes Product never come to the Costumers.

TRUST, is the number ONE issue in online shopping in Indonesia, and there is Challanges for Indonesia to deal with this Business prospect. First is only 40% population in Indonesia who have the Bank Account, 4,5% populatin who have the Credit Card. The Dominant way to pay the E-Commerce Activities in Indonesia is Banking Transfer  and COD (Cash On Delivery).
E-Commerce Goals :
o    On time delivery, it means the time that the costumer received the Products it matching with the time that had promised by the seller.
o    No damage, no one of the Products that having Damaged. Hope the products always in good condition
o    No missing, hope the all products that ordered by costumers can be delivered according with the count of the ordered products
o    Access o tracking and tracing by customers, every costumers want to check out where is their products, how long the time the Products can be Delivered? Etc.
o    FIFO ( First In First Out )
o    Delivery milestone update ;
o    Inventory accuracy ;
o    High productivity ;
o    IT integrated order management system.



And, the Second speaker is Bapak Hadi Kuntjoro as COO of A-Commerce. A-Commerce is a company who provides everythings the Ecommerce Company needs, like system, e-commerce design, supply, distribution, help the newbie to start the business activity in e-commerce, combaine 2 parties or more to make a deal with the same purpose, and make a business relationship. So, A-Commerce is a platform that sell everything services that needs by E-Commerce Companies as their Products.
Mr. Hadi explain about what is sold by E-commerce of  product and service by them, namely:
1.                Technology Development
2.                Performance Marketing
3.                E-Fulfillment & Delivery
4.                Cross Border “International” Ecommerce

These are the Challenges of E-Commerce :
1.      Market
2.      Infrastucture
3.      Mainset and People
4.      LOGISTICS Network


So, the point is :
1.      E-Commerce have a big prospect in Indonesia
2.      E-Commerce always grow from the years to the years
3.      E-commerce is a business that have the easy way to starts
4.      Internet Connectivity is the key
5.      E-Commerce is a part of LOGISTICS Activity
6.      Technology is the Imprtant Part in this Industry
7.      Global Era is going Faster
